Weekly Topic: Useless Talk
When we speak, the tone of our words often reveal our emotions at any given moment. For most of the day, our words are mechanical and are spoken in sleep. When we are in Presence, we are able to be the observer of our words. Do we talk with clarity, love and compassion? Or do we tend to espouse our view until we are satisfied that we are heard? Is unnecessary talk an obstacle to presence? As our teacher says, “Useless talk means time unused for presence.”
Weekly Exercise:
This week make an aim to minimize your useless words. Speak from a place of love. Stop to hear what others are saying and try not to add to the conversation if there is nothing more to be said. Perhaps, like presence, you will find silence is golden.
