The Connection Between Conscience and External Consideration
Commonly, conscience refers to values and acts as a moral compass. In the Fourth Way, its meaning goes beyond the ideas of right and wrong. External consideration is removing your lower self from an interaction and leaving behind your preconceived thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and attitudes, to consciously act on someone else’s behalf: that is, behaving with compassion to the needs of the person in front of you.
Remember then: there is only one time that is important—Now! It is the most important time because it is the only time when we have any power. The most important person is always the person you are with, who is standing right in front of you... And the most important thing to do is to do good for them, because for that purpose alone was man sent into this life. ─ Leo Tolstoy

External consideration is practical and humane. Look for it in the small as well as the great, and the divine harmony that resounds throughout the Universe will echo within you. — The Teacher
