Weekly Topic: The Humility of Awakening
In Presence there is a flow of purity that manifests humility and other attributes such as love, silence, clarity, gratitude, and unity. As Presence is always an available state, so too are the attributes. This week we focus on humility. Quiet and simple, humility is the breath that nourishes BEing; acceptance to what is given; and the act of stepping outside of oneself.
“Humility comes when we catch a glimpse of the great Work and great achievements, and see how infinitely small we are by comparison. It brings a great sense of freedom. Who does not feel humility when he is aware of his tiny body in relation to the mountain he is climbing, and who doesn’t feel free and happy in that moment? Love and humility can’t be invented and they can’t be simulated. They are the result of feeling more and seeing more.” ~Rodney Collin
From the Teacher, "We are only special when we realize that we are not special. We are blessed with inconspicuous humility and Presence; it is this that makes us special. With Presence, everything leads to humility."
Weekly Exercise:
Limiting the use of I, me, or mine awakens us to the excessive use of speaking about oneself and focusing on oneself. Living smaller and humbler takes one out of the Lower Self.
