VERIFICATION

VERIFICATION

One of the foundational pillars of conscious evolution is verification. Neither accept nor reject anything written here or mentioned in our presentations. This is part of what makes conscious evolution a personal journey to self-knowledge, and conscious life. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, the 18th century statesman, poet and scientist stated “Men need to be taught that beauty is a necessity.” Esoterically we could interpret this as ‘Men need to be taught that beauty - presence - is a necessity [for conscious life.]

Recently, one of the members on our private page stated that for him, lower and higher centers are theoretical, and how to verify higher centers? He is already closer to verifying the machine and that which is not the machine because he has this question. Marie Michael’s reply offers a key. Higher centers are connected to memory. When memory is created higher centers are functioning. When there is little or no memory, we are in an habitual or mechanical existence. Imagination and/or identification have submerged consciousness.

There are concepts in the system that we can verify at once. Are we dividing attention while reading this? Can we indeed divide attention while reading this? Can we refrain from expressing negative emotions? Given all we’ve written and presented about the different centers, are there any observations that support the fact that we are four brains not just one?

Peter Ouspensky stated that a school is for people who need it and know they need it. It is reasonable then that one of the most important verifications that anyone interested in conscious evolution must make is that a school is necessary for the development of consciousness.

If you ask me to prove to you that higher centers exist, or prove that three lines of work are needed for conscious evolution, or prove to you that the expression of negative emotions are a weakness, or that conscious life after the death of the machine is a reality, I cannot. Yet for myself, these are verifications. Do I expect you to believe me? No one can verify for another. Conscious evolution a profoundly personal experience.

The accompanying image of St. Veronica with the Veil is from the Catholic tradition. According to legend, Veronica was moved with sympathy seeing Jesus carrying the cross and gave him her veil so that he could wipe his forehead. Jesus accepted the offer, and when he returned the veil the image of his face was miraculously captured on it. This led to the association of the name with the Latin phrase "vera icon," meaning "true image" The word ‘verify’ stems from the same root. When we verify the system, we arrive at the ‘true image’ of our condition, that is the objective truth about the machine and the beautiful truth of our divine Self. And as William Shakespeare noted, ‘A fate devoutly to be wished for’.
