Man is a machine. We are like puppets governed and operated by influences in the universe. P.D. Ouspensky categorizes these as A, B, and C Influences. A Influence is created in life like interest in entertainment, cars, fashion, money, politics, career. B Influence is when one is tired of all the desires of life and becomes interested in philosophy or religion. C Influence is a conscious influence and comes from a conscious teacher who has already attained a higher level of being.

Schools are objective because outside help always give the same message and produce the same state. — The Teacher
