A Weekly Exercise

As a start to this new year, an exercise will be suggested that relates to the topic of the week. This week’s topic is States of Consciousness.

The aim is for you to try the suggested exercises or practice one that supports you in the evolution of your consciousness. Please revisit this post during the week to offer your experiences in the comments. We learn and share from one another.

This week’s exercise, the use of Self Remembrance, promotes and sustains a state of consciousness which keeps us in Presence. Observe your thoughts or movements. Nothing one thinks or does to engage presence is too small or insignificant. The movement of hands while washing a dish; listening to the sound of the wind or the patter of rain on a window; watching fingers typing a text; or perhaps singing a song with a child. Feel each moment of Presence as you witness the state.

From the Teacher, “To be a conscious being all you need to do is relinquish imagination for presence. And that is most difficult which seems easiest-to insert this state above the second state.”
