A weekly exercise

Each week an exercise will be posted for the aim of living consciously.

People are frequently asked before the new year, “What is your New Year’s resolution?” Resolutions focus on desires to change something that will enhance one’s life for the better. Popular New Year resolutions include: eating healthier; saving money; drinking less, spending more time with family; quitting smoking; exercising; helping others; the list goes on and on. Resolutions, most of which are focused on improvement of the mechanical self, are not sustainable and ultimately cause disapointment and unnecessary suffering. Broken resolutions perpetuate false personality and identification.

“True happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. The greatest blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. A wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.” -Seneca
“Every second that one is present is added to one’s immortal soul. You will never see anything more beautiful than the presence of your soul.” -The Teacher

This coming year (as the effort is made throughout the year) let us focus on aims that connect and sustain Higher Centers. We can ask ourselves “What actions allow us to BE wherever we are, free of imagination?” “How do we remain small so that we do not get in the way of Presence?” “Can we refrain from speaking about ourselves?” “Do we externally consider by serving others?” Do we live in conscious love?” “Do we live with gratitude?” “Do we accept our play?”
