A weekly exercise

A weekly exercise

Each week an exercise will be posted for the aim of living consciously.

The practice of leaving an object that you have used or a place where you have been, “as or better than you had found it”, offers us an opportunity to externally consider others. As a frequent traveler, I stay in many different places. Sometimes I do not know anyone and other times I visit with dear friends or family. Each day, I make an effort to replicate a room or rooms as I had found them with an aim of leaving no trace of me. This exercise allows me to be present to my actions and surroundings as well as to show gratitude towards others who made an effort in hosting and/or accommodating me. As my teacher has said, “Extra effort means extra Presence.”

This week, try to leave no trace of yourself either when visiting, at work or in your home. Here are a few suggestions:

After eating, clean where you ate and push in the chair you used. After use, wipe all sinks. Make your bed daily. At work, leave a neat workspace. In any activity remember to be present to the octave, be present to the moment.
