A weekly exercise

A weekly exercise

Each week an exercise will be posted for the aim of living consciously.

I live with many housemates who can be very difficult to get along with. They often get the better of me and can be very disruptive. Self serving and judgmental, they talk entirely too much and are uncomfortable with silence. More importantly, they do not want to hear about my school and try to distract me from the work. I try to avoid listening to them and find myself separating as much as possible. When I am able to do this, my state shifts to a higher consciousness.

This week, I use a little humor to describe the Many I ‘s or housemates that are living with(in) me. Needless to say, there is no humor to the feeling of imprisonment or suppression by the antics of the Lower Self. Consciously or unconsciously we suffer when we are in identification. It is only when we transform this suffering and move beyond the nature of all these I’s that we function from a state of Higher Centers. The reality is that “I” does not exist in Higher Centers. In that respect, we are free to simply Be.

From our Teacher, “When the lower self brings an “I” at the wrong time, your enemy is from your own household.”

This week, be aware of an “I” that causes suffering. Make a conscious effort to separate self from that "I" and its many emotions.
