A weekly exercise

Each week an exercise will be posted for the aim of living consciously.

If we ask ourselves what is in front of us? What is above us? What is below us? What is around us? We may answer, “I see a friend who I can depend on.” “I see my child whom I love.” I see a teacher who can lead the way.” “ I see a beautiful flower, majestic mountains, a stunning sunset.” “I feel the earth supporting me.” “I hear the trill of a bird song.” “I gaze at constellations. I look up and see clouds whose shapes leave me in awe.” What is before us is abundant when we are in a state of Presence. Without conscious vision, we are sightless and senseless.

This week, make an aim of looking several times during the day at you observing what is before you, what is above you, and what is below you. Did your state of consciousness shift?
