A Brief Thought on Judgement

A Brief Thought on Judgement

All negative judgement of others assumes that I am the the yardstick, the measure of all humanity.

This attitude is an obvious absurdity; no sensible person would claim to be the benchmark by which all people are measured. And yet, look at our behaviour. This is a good example of the difference between ‘knowledge’ and ‘being’.

Intellectually, I am well aware that there are many different types of people and at least as many different ways of doing things. I ‘know’ that taking myself as some sort of ideal is the height of vanity and would never suggest that everyone ought to be 'more like me'.

And yet, how do I react in traffic to people who do not drive just like I do?

What are your observations of this strange inner contradiction?
