Working with a Teacher
Working with an esoteric teacher is working with love personified. It is not the same love that we have for family or friends. It is love on a different level, and we must stretch to reach it.
The Teacher can see us and what needs strengthening, what needs eliminating, what needs support... It is his role to lead us in these areas, and this is not always easy for him or for us.
Many times, we may not agree with the Teacher, but we need to verify. A Teacher is far ahead of us, and we cannot logically understand everything he needs to do to help us. In this School, everything the Teacher says must be verified: the value, the truth, the need to do as we are asked. And this is not easy. We must test ourselves, sometimes push ourselves, sometimes ask for help to do as we are asked. And we must do it. By following, we come to understand ourselves enough to know why we disagreed. And, after time, we will see that we do agree - we had to work to remove whatever it was that was blocking us from gaining insight.
If we ask the Teacher for help, we are obliged to follow his suggestions. If we follow, if we stay the mark, if we work, we will begin to understand what love really is, and we can set our aim to reach it with the Teacher's help.
Weekly Exercise:
This week, try to find subjects of imagination. After a while, you will have a list of subjects. When you find yourself in imagination, try to transform the lower state to a state of Presence.
