Weekly Topic: Scale and Relativity
Scale:
The ability to view an event or experience from larger or smaller perspectives. It is especially useful to combat identification. For example, faced with the prospect of a difficult encounter, a person might focus on the immediate environment (in which the encounter is not yet occurring) or attempt to view the situation in terms of full year, thus rendering it insignificant. Higher centers enable a person to apply scale by experiencing life from the perspective of higher worlds, in which comparison with which one’s ordinary existence may be seen as an illusion.
Correct scale is to value presence above everything. — The Teacher
Relativity:
The practice of considering something, such as an event or another person, from different points of view. It is an opposite to identification, in which all awareness is trapped in a single point of view.
Relativity is the key to understanding. — The Teacher
Weekly Exercise:
This week try to bring the tool of scale to separate from your identifications. By seeing a bigger scale, an identification becomes smaller. The change in perspective allows you to break the sense of identity from your identification, providing an opening for separation and self-remembering. When in doubt, look up at the sky.
