Quest of the Seeker
It is not unusual for one’s inner Seeker to ask, “Who am I? What am I? Where am I?”
One could ask, “Am I the person who was born into this world and given a name that would identify me for the rest of my life? Raised with that identity, nurtured by ancestral cultures and habits? Not truly knowing oneself.”
One could ask, “What is my Soul’s work? Did I come into this vessel – this physical body – with a purpose?”
One could ask, “Where am I?” Wondering if there must be more to my life than I am experiencing. Feeling that I am only riding a wave in an ocean of possibilities. Reflecting on years of mind-body disciplines, meditation, chanting, yoga, endless activities. Yes, I have experienced a higher self where there is no time, no words, and no thoughts. But then, it is gone, and I am back asking the questions yet again.
The Seeker is stuck. This Seeker – or Magnetic Center as we refer to it in the Fourth Way – is an energy that is designed to seek out or attract a conscious teaching to itself. But the Seeker is reading these words, and their journey has now taken a turn onto a new path. Prompted by one very specific word: “Presence.” Presence enables one to transform, to shed the many obstacles that have blocked the way. Presence offers one the gift of Being, the state of consciousness and the map to Higher Centers. The road is not solitary as you will experience the love of so many.
And once you are on this path, you will leave the Seeker behind and forget the questions for they are irrelevant because you will be awakened to live the answer.
“Don’t search for the answers which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. Perhaps then, someday, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answers.” ─ Rainer Maria Rilke
A personal reflection from our friend, Joan.
