Weekly Topic

Learn how to listen as things speak for themselves. — Matsuo Bashō

The art of listening is about being fully present to another being with an open heart. It is the practice of passing no judgement or opposite ‘I’s and reaching beyond the limitations of words.

The lower self is very quick to respond with opposite thinking, thus revealing its stubborn nature. — The Teacher

Weekly Exercise

This week let us try to bring presence to conversations and take a pause before responding. Something simple like counting slowly 1-2-3 can help interrupt the momentum and give us time to intentionally think about what the other person said. It allows us to understand others’ perspectives more deeply and to listen with empathy.

Presence is the answer to every question. — The Teacher
