A Weekly Exercise

Each week an exercise will be posted for the aim of raising awareness and being present in the midst of ordinary life.

How many doors or drawers did you open and close today? Did you use your right hand or left? Did you turn a knob or pull a handle? Did you gently close the door/drawer or let it slam?

This week’s exercise is to observe yourself (self-remembering) opening and closing doors and drawers. Perhaps as the week progresses, you will see a change in your state as you become more aware of your movements. Your efforts may lead you to many more moments of presence in your day.

As our teacher says, what one experiences, we all experience. We welcome you to share your experiences with this exercise.
