Join us for the first of three online meetings hosted by a Fourth Way School. In this first meeting, we will discuss art's potential to cultivate self-knowledge and presence.
Awakening comprises both science and art. The Fourth Way system is an ancient science - brought to the West by George Gurdjieff and codified by Peter Ouspensky - of conscious evolution; that is, the personal journey from our habitual mechanical nature to the awakened state of higher centers. Throughout history this science was often expressed through art and its various forms including painting, sculpture, music, poetry, prose, and dance, to name a few.
In this session, we'll explore how the artist Rembrandt conveyed the human condition and as well as how he transmitted the means to transcend the lower self.
